Tombstone Groove is the nineteenth case in PetersCorporal's second season, Blue Coasts, as well as the fifth one in the City Center district.

Case Background

The case starts with the player and Nora MacMillon keeping watch of Camilla Sweeney, a prostitute working for The Kitty Cats, in order to gain more information about the two other pimps they still needed to arrest. As Nora reminisced about her short-lived friendship with Bella Matthews while she was undercover with MAFIA, they saw that a guy called Noel Nicollier (who worked as a security guard on the mall's roof) approached Camilla and presumed that it was one of her clients. Some minutes later and after ordering a coffee, the man started having a heart attack and collapsed to the floor, dying in a matter of seconds.

After finding out that Noel had been stalking the bar cook, Harper Tanner, for a long while, Chief Nearnight told the player that Noel had also once broken Violet's heart and that he thought he could get every woman he wanted because of his money and his charm. After discovering that Noel was also dating the bar waitress Anita Doorley, they interrogated his godfather Robert Steinberg and also Camilla for a second time, upon learning that Randy Cohen, the drug dealing airplane pilot, had been one of her clients. She said that Randy had been talking on the phone to a certain Dwight once, and they kept talking about jewels the whole time.

Some minutes later after finding out that Noel had carried out a racist attack against the bar cashier Santiago Yarmuth, the player heard from James Robert that he had asked Eva Dominique for help in handling the mall shoppers who were being held inside the building, but she just told him to tell the player that "her hands are tied", just like she'd said when they asked her about Madeline Maxwell's restraining order against her. Nora concluded that one of the two other pimps was in the shopping mall as well and therefore Eva could not go there, meaning that the other pimps may also have restraining orders against her. Not only that, but they also found out that Noel was included in the local police's protection list too, since the cases laid against him would never progress.

The player finally gathered all the evidence to arrest Anita Doorley for Noel's murder. Instead of denying the accusations, she said that she saw no other choice and revealed that Noel had raped at a party in front of multiple people the year before. She had forgiven him because he insisted that he loved her, but after seeing that he was stalking Harper and cheating on her, as well as picking up prostitutes right at the bar where she worked, she got mad and decided to poison his coffee to give him a heart attack. Before she could be arrested, she asked the player to look out the window and said that she wanted to see the sunrise one last time as she'd always do with Noel. Having also drunk coffee with digoxin to kill herself, she passed out and an ambulance was called to take her to a hospital, leaving her fate in the hands of doctors. During the commotion after Anita's failed arrest, Nora revealed to the player that Jean-Paul Takeda had been not only her partner in the police team, but also her boyfriend.

With the murder solved, all of the suspects now left the mall, except for Camilla who was still in a toilet and whom Nora wanted to interrogate again about her boss. She refused to speak, but they found a note from her boss to her, saying that she mustn't give any information to the police or else they'd get rid of her like they'd done "with four other girls", showing that Camilla's pimp was the one responsible for the quadruple murder.

Apart from that, Harry Buddock informed the team that he had find the information he'd been asked about regarding Marthin Farren, which turned out to be a manuscript of his memoirs that he'd written (which they gave to Annabelle so she could look for information in it) along with a planner of his from 1918. After reading the pages of November, the player saw that Marthin Farren had arranged a meeting with the King of Frankland on November 15 (12 days before Reuben's hanging), but they did not know why yet.

Even though they were not able to identify Camilla's boss, Hans Rougel suddenly barged into the lab to reveal that Robert Steinberg had also issued a restraining order against Eva when she became a Commander, meaning that he was the pimp they were looking for. Nora and the player went to arrest him, but he was waiting for them whilst holding Camilla at gunpoint. They couldn't shoot him because it could result in Camilla getting killed, so they had no choice but to let him escape and chase him afterwards, after Thomas Ravens tracked his mobile phone and informed that he was on the highway, escaping towards the neighbor city of High Meadows. With no time to lose and a hostage in danger, the player and Nora headed for the highway to chase Robert into jail.
