Thug Death is a case featured in Criminal Case as the sixth case of Zombie Homeland and the first case in the Corpus Corner district of The Walled City of Seattle.

Plot[]

After Commander Major Buckley allowed the Seattle Police Department to investigate a local zombie gang in the district of Corpus Corner, they were informed of a brutal murder in a fight club. Nick and the player then headed to the fight club and found local boxer Ian Kennedy with his skull pulverized with glass shards. Ravi and Livia confirmed that the weapon used to commit murder was an empty glass bottle that struck the victim over the head and killed him in a single blow. They then suspected fellow boxer Marcus Covington, The Scratcher's Post bar owner Don Edgar (who said that the victim showed up for zombie-human dance night) and local daredevil stuntman and the victim's fan Jacky Flooworks in the murder. Soon after, Major came to the station and told them that he had been personally investigating the victim's actions.

They then questioned Commander Buckley and he told them that he was investigating the victim due to suspicions of him picking fights with zombies at the Scratcher's Post, but he could not find definite proof. However, the Commander revealed that the victim owned a trailer in a trailer park, which prompted Nick and the player to investigate the park, before suspecting the victim's neighbour and socialite Thelma Fischer in the homicide. They then discovered that Don had kicked the victim out of his bar and that Jacky swore to burn the victim alive after hearing rumors that the victim was cheating. They were then informed by Vampire Steve that footage had revealed that the victim was sleeping with Thelma, triggering a vision for Nick. After the vision, Nick and the player then questioned Thelma, who told them that it was a one time affair and that they ended it days ago. Despite this, the detectives found enough evidence to incriminate Marcus for the homicide.

They then confronted Marcus about the murder and the boxer denied the accusations against him before he cracked and confessed, telling them the victim deserved it. He then confessed that a zombie gang in the district had attacked his teenage brother and that he was scratched by one of the gang members that attacked him. Marcus then told them that he had spent many days and nights whenever he wasn't fighting or resting from his fights to figure out who had attacked his brother. Weeks passed without any helpful proof until he overheard the victim talking to someone who had a ruthless sounding voice. He then overheard the unknown one telling him that he had to pay them back with his allegiance in exchange for destabilizing "the young one". This led him to believe that Ian was behind it to destabilize him from winning against him, which angered him. He later confronted Ian about it and the victim gloated, telling him that he didn't have proof. Marcus then snapped and struck the victim over with a glass bottle to knock him out so he could take him to the police, but discovered that he was dead after seeing the glass bottle shards embedded in his skull. He then told the detectives that it was good riddance after what Ian did. Nick then arrested Marcus and sent him to trial, where Judge Michalka sentenced Marcus to ten years in prison for the accidental manslaughter. Afterwards, Nick and the player swore to investigate the zombie gang to find out more.

After the arrest, the player and Nick then decided to talk to Major about the victim. He then suggested to them to investigate the victim's trailer and find out more, prompting the detective duo to find a locked box, abandoned there. They then unlocked the box and discovered an encrypted secret message inside the box. They then sent it to Vampire Steve, who told them that the message uncovered a warning to stay alert for "the others". They then decided to question the victim's neighbour, Thelma, and see if she knew anything she may have overheard about the victim. Thelma told the detectives that she did not overhear him as she respected Ian's life, however he had mentioned to her that he kept most of his possessions at the fight club. This prompted the player and Nick to head there, soon finding a ring with a mysterious insignia on it, which triggered a vision for Nick. Nick then confessed that he overheard someone mention "the Wolf" while looking at the victim's own hand, which had the same ring perched on it. They then concluded that the insignia was of the gang, before informing the Commander of the discoveries.

Meanwhile, Livia and the player went to check on Liv's friend and city judge Peyton Michalka after she requested the player's help. She then confessed to Liv and the player that she recently found out that she was pregnant with Ravi's child and that she had been thinking about how to break the news. However she confessed that she had misplaced her purse at the Scratcher's Post, which prompted Livia and the player to head to the Post to find Peyton's purse. They then discovered Peyton's coin purse, which led the player to dust for fingerprints, which they sent to Natalie to analyze. After Natalie matched the prints to Jacky's prints, they confronted the stuntman and Jacky confessed that he had found the purse and he was searching it for identification so he could return it. He then gave Livia and the player the purse along with everything else, including the pregnancy test, before taking the purse back to Peyton. Peyton, accompanied by Livia and the player, then shared the news with Ravi, who hugged his girlfriend and promised her everything he could give her, which caused Peyton to tear up as she hugged Ravi.

After all the events, Clint (who was wistfully thinking about his own kids) then told them they needed to look out for the zombie gang and "the Wolf".
