The Silver Gala is a case featured in Criminal Case, appearing as the fourth case of the game. It is the fourth case set in the city of Crimsonden and also the fourth one to take place in the Crystal Manors district.
Plot
The team dressed up to go to the Silver Gala which was held yearly in Crystal Manors. The team was asked to be vigilant in keeping an eye out for killers. The team enjoyed the gala, and as the party was ending down, Sybil, one of the guests on the party went to the front, and gave out a loud scream. The team rushed there, to find the body of a man, his throat slit with a knife. Sybil informed that the man was her uncle, Brandon Swift, who was disinherited. The team figured out that Colton was Brandon's son, and interrogated him as well, and they also interrogated Bella Day, the caterer after searching the gala room. The player and Allison also learned that the killer had been to Switzerland and used anti-depressents, before learning all the guests were moving to the lounge room.
The team went into the lounge room, where they found enough clues to suspect Joel's mom, Annabelle Bradley and butler Tyrone Raines, both of them having communicated with the victim. They also found that the killer smokes. After another search of the entrance area, the team also found out that Sybil and the victim had a huge fight over who should be the heir/heiress after Ronald's death, and that the victim had tried to flirt with Bella which failed miserably, before learning that the music in the ballroom was playing again.
The detectives rushed into the ballroom, where they saw people dancing, and cleaning up some of the tables, destroying evidence. The detectives stopped that, before they found out that Colton blamed the victim for his disinheritement. It was also found that Annabelle directly caused that when she spread rumors of Brandon fathering a bastard daughter, and that Tyrone and the victim had a long history, including Tyrone trying to scam the victim. With all the evidence due to one last search, including the murder weapon, a Swiss Army Knife, the player arrested Bella for the murder.
Bella started to deny the murders, before she was cornered and she reluctantly agreed that she had murdered Brandon. Bella revealed that Brandon had discovered the conspiracy of the city, and that he needed to go. The team suspiciously asked her what "conspiracy" she was talking about. Bella continued saying that Brandon was a block in their path. She continued saying that the entire town was in the conspiracy, and that they were all aiming for different forms of justice in Crimsonden. The next question asked was how Brandon was a block in their plans, and Bella revealed that Colton was part of their plans as the heir to the Swifts, but the Brandon got himself disinherited, leaving Arthur Swift in charge. She said that Arthur was getting too old, and Colton was going to be an useful ally to indoctrinate. The plans were going well, but then Ronald got surprisingly murdered, leaving Sybil as the heir, and that Sybil's rebellious nature was going to get them all in trouble. Bella also said that the thefts were a plan of the conspiracy but refused to elaborate any further. Judge Cross sentenced Bella to 50 years in prison, but Corinne stepped forward, saying that Bella was unwell, so therapists should be provided, and to take her words with a grain of salt.
