Deep in the woods of Grim Chapel, ghouls, wolves, and bats go bump in the Halloween night when a body is found in a ritualistic fashion! When you investigate, and the clues start to lead to fresh vengeances, can you stick to reality and find the truth... or be eclipsed by shadow?
Two months after Timmy Tanner's arrest and the earthquake, the city of Concordia was recovering, moving on. In place of the buildings that fell, new innovative one were constructed. The town mourned the losses and looked to the future, whatever awaited them. On Halloween night, as the thunder howled against the walls and lightning struck the ground, Arthur instructed Isaac and the player to check out a local soiree hosted in town. Hostess Abigail Walcott insisted that everything was in order, except that young woman Hope Woodford had raced out into the woods urgently. Knowing the storm that had hit Concordia that night, the pair made their way into the woods to find Hope and check on her wellbeing. An hour into their search, however, Isaac and the player were lost, before seeing candlelight in the distance. Believing it to be a passer-by, Isaac rushed forwards, only to find Hope dead, draped against a fallen tree, her head hollowed and glowing.
After making contact with the outside world, Dick first autopsied the young woman's body and detailed how Hope's head was cut open with a blade at an angle before they hollowed the insides, placing a single candle inside. Isaac, disgusted by the modus operandi, then elected to question Abigail about what had occurred. Abigail begrudgingly invited them to search the cemetery soiree, where they suspected occult expert and historian George Okamoto and drunkard artist Callum Edwards. As the pair recapped back on the airship, with Evie and Greta decorating the place with spooky ornaments, Maddie insisted that she'd just heard from Dr. Ezekiel Jones at Gryphon Sanctuary, revealing that Faith Woodford had escaped and was on the loose!
