Stephanie became part of Craig Mistem's murder investigation after her fingerprints were found on a ring box at the crime scene in Queen Elizabeth Foundry. She seemed to be just an old woman who didn't know a thing, but it was later discovered that her granddaughter, Ashley Jamin, was the victim's girlfriend. In fact, she turned out to be the killer and dropped her facade of inocent old lady.
She said that she couldn't let Ashley and Craig get married because she belonged now the Jamin household, an important and wealthy family, so Craig couldn't be one of them as he was just a humble foundry worker. Seeing that there was no other choice from her point of view, she decided to go to the foundry and put Craig inside one of the ovens, resulting in his slow death. Judge Esteban Gonzalez sentenced her to 20 years in home arrest.
