Smells Like Teen Spirit is a case featured in Criminal Case as the fiftieth of the game. It is the second one that takes place at Odyssey Gardens in New Cresthill.
Plot
During the night of the music festival, the provisional team was waiting in the front row for the first act. However, several hours passed in which the festival did not start, so Rachel and the player went to see if everything was in order. They knocked on the door of the dressing room of the first singer who was going to appear and when they received no answer they opened it, finding aspiring rock star Larry Benson dried up. They questioned zookeeper Sage Black, bartender Samuel Tran and, provisional weapons expert Norbert Korrik. Soon after, Rachel and the player are almost run over by various artists' vans who were fleeing the festival.
After arresting and taking custody of the artists trying to flee, Rachel and the player returned to the investigation. They suspected provisional coroner Elysium Van Porcelaine and markswoman Dakota Topic as well as discovering that Larry wanted Sage to give him the skins of some zoo lions so that only then would he sign the sponsorship contract and that Larry was Norbert's ex-boyfriend who broke up with him after he was disfigured by a fire. While reassuring the event organizer, Rachel and the player saw someone in a green robe spraying a foul-smelling liquid on various festival-goers. They both followed the person in the green hood to a dead end where they found Nicholas wiping his hands with disinfectant. In addition, Larry owed the bar a lot of money because he always ended up breaking whole bottles of booze to look rude, Elysium had received a necklace from Larry since he developed a crush on her and, Dakota had sold her rifle to Larry even though he didn't have a license to carry weapons. Finally, the team arrested Dakota for the crime.
Dakota immediately confessed to the crime and asked to be put in prison as quickly as possible. Due to the death of Osiris, Dakota couldn't play the victim role and began to earn less money since she had become accustomed to receiving it easily as an act of mercy from the people. With the little money she had, she decided to rent a space on the band bus but she missed the luxuries of her past life. That morning, while Dakota was shopping, she found a person wearing a green robe who offered her a job: kill Larry Benson for half a million dollars. Dakota accepted and wanted to impress her client for a little extra. She knew of the existence of the food dehydrator so she convinced Larry that the band was looking for a new guitarist to get him on the bus. Then, she pushed him into the machine and, after several times playing with it, left him dried up so she moved his body to his dressing room. Judge Blanton sentenced her to life imprisonment.
