Robert was first spoken to when his phone number was found scratched into Whilomena's desk. After analyses from Cora Portillini, it was revealed to be Robert's. Robert said that Whilomena taught him when she started teaching, and had inscribed his number into the desk when he was in trouble. When the team told Robert Whilomena was dead, he appeared to be shocked. But then said that Whilomena wasn't a good teacher, and wasn't a major loss to the staff.

Robert was spoken to again when his brandy glass was found in Whilomena's lecture hall. Robert said that he was drunk one time, and said that he went around, and threw a Polish dictionary he had been using at the window and smashed it by accident. Robert apologised for it and paid the fine.

In the end, Robert Addams, a professor of biology, killed Whilomena. Robert was being paid by Whilomena to spy on Viv. Whilomena suddenly didn't have enough money to pay Robert, and tried to ignore him. Robert needed the money to pay for his mother's private healthcare. When asked by the team not to put her in public, he said that if he did that, that would be social suicide in Belfriar.

Hamani Bhaatt sentenced Robert to 55 years imprisonment.
