Events Of Criminal Case[]

Death, Served[]

While speaking to Hunter, the team learnt that the victim was friend, with a guy with brown hair, black eyes, and sported a fringe. The duo used a database to identify the victim’s friend, who was called Rhys Thornberry, who the team then interrogated. Rhys was interrogated again, due to his message where he called the victim an “anime loser”, where he expressed his dislike to anime, and his disappointment on his friend, for becoming an otaku.

Rhys was found innocent, however, Chief Cosby informed Sherlock, that Rhys would like to see him. Sherlock and Jack went to talk to Rhys. Rhys explained that he is a student at Century Miles University, where he was given a pass in order to enter the campus, via the student entrance door. However, he lost it at the “street-fighting arena”. The duo searched the “arena”, where they found a pile of trash, which after rummaging through it, they managed to find Rhys’ pass, and gave it to him.

Face The Ball![]

Yuna and Sherlock came to talk to Rhys, after they recognized fabric from his boxers in the locker room, and considering he was a Century Miles student and has a similar name to the Coach, they thought it no coincidence that they found the fabric there. Rhys recognized the duo and was shocked to see them in the university, and when asked if Coach Thornberry could be a relative of his, he crossed his arms and confirmed himself as Reece’s son. Rhys was shocked when he was informed of Jon’s death, hoping that it won’t affect the team’s performance..

Rhys was spoken to again after Yuna and Sherlock learned that he despised Jon Sinugult. Rhys admitted that he had been jealous on Jon, not because of how great he is, but because of the attention he received from his father, and how his father favored Jon over him, and would often compare the two and tell Rhys thar he wishes that he’d be more like Jon, affecting Rhys’ self-esteem and growing his hatred toward Jon.

Yuna and Sherlock collected enough evidence to incriminate Rhys Thornberry. When confronted with the murder, Rhys started panicking and told Yuna and Sherlock that he did not want things to go that far, and that all what he wanted was to physically hurt Jon not kill him. Rhys expressed how he was starting to grow tired of his father telling him to be more like Jon and so he started spying on Jon to find any flaws of him to show his father that he was better than Jon in at least a couple of things. After a couple of weeks of stalking, Rhys saw Jon do something he never thought he would have done: doping. This is when Rhys realized that Jon was probably no better a player than he was and that all this time he was being put down be his father against a cheater. Furious, when the two of them were alone this morning, Rhys top a football and threw it at Jon, hoping that it would hit his head and suffer no more than a harmless injury. Unfortunately, the anger inside Rhys made him use too much energy in throwing the ball, that when Jon turned, it hit his face very hard, made his face swell, and he fell into the ground and died. Rhys was brought to Judge Flores, who sentenced him to 5 years in prison.
