Plot[]

Megan Sapphire woke up and started taking deep breath as she was sweating heavily. She tried to recall what she had just seen and looked at her wristwatch which said it was 7 pm. Understanding it was a vision and that she had to warn the ABPD before it really happened, she quickly headed towards the station and reached there 40 minutes before the explosion was supposed to happen. As she stormed inside, Susan asked her what was wrong and she replied there wasn't enough time to explain everything and that there was a bomb inside her desk. Skeptical Susan checked her desk and turned pale after seeing it before realizing the bomb couldn't be unarmed without the remote. Right then, Aiden and the player appeared at the station and Chief Prince ordered them to go to the forest as Megan advised, but she then revealed how Cascade had gone extreme in her vision before telling them to find someone else as the player's partner for the case. As the team wondered who could that be, Megan said that her friend Tobias Larsson could help them here.

As Chief Prince allowed him to be the partner, the player met him at the forest entrance where he greeted them before going inside. After a while, they found a guy lying dead beside a remote controller with a lot of claw marks on his body. Given there was only 10 minutes left, Tobias tried to defuse the bomb and eventually managed to do so, saying his past training proved to be useful at least once. However, after sending the body to Eva, the team searched the place and found out that the victim was a lowlife weapon dealer named Alex Walker before flagging supernatural hunter Gwen Harper as a suspect who claimed to see werewolves around the forest. Later on, much to their surprise, the team had to suspect Chief Prince's boyfriend, resurrected animator Jesse Knight and time traveller Krystal Swift since Jesse claimed the victim was the one who gave him a shelter after he was resurrected, while Krystal claimed she was from 2030 and that there was some problems going on with the timeline which they couldn't even imagine. Anyway, Eva said that the claw marks were weird and that those were done by something metallic and deduced the killer ate protein bars given the wounds were covered by the crumbs.

Soon afterwards, Tobias said he was really surprised to see who their suspects turned out to be, right when he heard something and looked above as an axe was going to fall straight on his head. However, he somehow managed to save himself as the axe fell on the ground, causing him to say that he could sense Dark Empire and Cascade were playing hard and that they'd need to be very careful. The team then went to search the black market where they found some clues which led them to resurrected journalist Greta Brooke and a clone girl named Anne Sparrow since Alex was ordered to kill Greta after the organization found out that she was slowly being uncontrollable by electromagnetic waves, while Anne was being trained by the victim to assassinate people although she didn't want to do so. Meanwhile, it was revealed that Jesse had asked Alex multiple times to kill him, saying the afterlife was much better for the dead, and that Gwen once bought some weapons from Alex which almost caused her to go to prison given they were stolen from MI6.

After a while, the team started recapping as they went to the place where Scott Barkley got murdered, only to see a hooded figure shooting Scott and Megan with a laser gun. Tobias muttered what was happening there, just when the scene changed and they saw no sign of Megan but Scott sitting and reading a book in broad daylight. Then, the scene changed again and the team found themselves in darkness again as before. Not being able to believe what they just saw, the team decided to question Krystal about it who reluctantly revealed that three timelines were trying to exist at the same time as some events had messed up-like Alex was supposed to die a week ago while Megan was supposed to die instead of Scott. Tobias asked why those happened, and she said that she couldn't say them anything else as that'd affect their future. However, the team continued their investigation and soon came to know that Anne was planning to kill Alex as he denied to tell her whose clone she was, and that the victim got emotional after finding out Greta was his ancestor, and decided not to kill her.

Finally, Tobias and the player found all the clues to arrest Jesse for the murder.

With all proofs, Tobias and the player headed towards the victim's cabin to confront Jesse. Mid-way, soldier Johan Cove approached them and asked where they were going, and Tobias sarcastically replied they were going to arrest a guy, like casual nine-five. However, Johan said it was good to see Tobias working with the police before saying that he'd also come with them after quickly finishing a work. As he left, the duo went inside the cabin and found Jesse who was staring at his nails. When confronted about the murder, he didn't deny anything and said that he couldn't explain his motive since most of the time he was being controlled by electromagnetic waves, however, having an order to kill Alex didn't make sense anyways to him. He then stood up and said the team that although he couldn't explain that order, he could easily understand the reason of his current order-killing the team. Then he folded his sleeves and showed a device attached to both of his hands and pressed a button, causing sharp metallic claws to come out. Tobias tried to pull out his gun but he discovered that there was nothing there. With a sigh, he got ready to fight and the fight started with him having the upper hand. But Jesse changed strategy and used the claws to attack his hands, causing him to bleed and get distracted. Jesse then overpowered him and proceeded to stab him, right when Johan appeared and hit him with a tranquilizer bullet, causing him to fall unconscious. Seeing Jesse, Johan got surprised, asking what Tobias did with him as he was covered in bruises and scratches. However, the trio then took the metallic claws off and decided to take Jesse to the station to deal with him.

Back at the station, Chief Prince got tearful after seeing her boyfriend in that state as Eva bandaged Tobias' hand. After a while, Chief approached Johan, Tobias and the player and asked them to meet her in her office.

So, the trio went inside, and Diana asked Tobias why he beat Jesse so badly. Tobias got skeptical and asked her what he was supposed to do then, and she replied that he could just resist his attacks to defend himself. As Tobias said there was no way he'd just sit and watch around a guy slashing them with sharp claws, Diana stood up and grabbed his collar before pinning him against the wall, saying that he'd pay for hurting her boyfriend. Tobias got furious and made her release him before showing his bandaged hands and said that if that was how he got treated for helping them, then he wouldn't help at all from then. He then left the room before advising Johan to take his place, and the latter told Diana it was a mistake to act like that knowing a traitor was still on the loose. Diana then said he could also leave as the prime suspect of her boyfriend's missing case didn't seem trustworthy to her at all. Johan nodded and decided to leave as Susan saw him, asking what happened. As he explained it, she went inside Diana's office and told her to let him investigate with the player unless she wanted her to resign. Diana sighed and told them to do whatever, so Johan and the player first searched the black market to know why Jesse was ordered to kill the victim. There, they found a receipt which showed that a dream controller had been bought earlier that day by Krystal. Knowing dream controllers could send electromagnetic waves, they went to see Krystal who was sitting beside her time machine with Tobias. Johan stared at the vehicle with surprise before asking her about the controller, and she revealed that she was the one who indirectly ordered Jesse to kill Alex in order to fix the timeline since they were preventing it to be fixed. She then revealed she was actually waiting for the team to ask her about it, and that it was time for her to go. Tobias then hugged Krystal, saying it was nice of her to talk with him when he was sad. Krystal smiled, and went inside the time machine as a portal opened, allowing her to leave.

Meanwhile, Johan and the player approached Gwen and asked if she had seen anything suspicious around the place. As she said that she had seen some shady people hanging around the forest, the team searched there and found a half-burnt paper which featured two doctors-Bradley Coner and gang leader Roger Spitfire. Johan was shocked to see Roger as a doctor, so they sent the paper to Troy who after analysis said that Roger was really a doctor who had suddenly chosen the life of a gang leader a few years ago, prompting them to visit him in his cell. When confronted, he said that it was true and that he, along with Bradley were the most talented doctors of Dark Empire who actually built the machine capable of resurrecting dead people and controllng them via electromagnetic waves. Johan asked him why they left the organization, and he shouted that they were just using people like them and Mark Reynolds to achieve their goal, and that they could do anything to make talented people help them. When asked about their plans, he said he didn't really know their main plan but that searching Alex's cabin might help, prompting the team to do so. There, they found an note sent to Cascade, which said that it was really cool how they framed Susan into Mark's mother, Carol Reynolds' murder. Johan said he was totally confused, asking Susan was framed then who killed Carol actually. However, they then decided to question Mark about it who turned pale, saying that now everything seemed clear to him, since an anonymous person contacted him just a week after his mother's death, saying that he could take revenge on Carol's murder by helping Dark Empire, as well threatening that his sister would have the same fate unless he helped them by building high-tech weapons like the dream controllers or lightsabers. He then punched in the wall, saying that he was now regretting listening to that person at the first place out of vengeance.

Back at the station, Johan and the player told everyone about Roger's past and how Susan was framed, causing her to get furious as it ruined her life in a way. Johan suggested her to stay calm and asked Chief Prince if they should reopen Carol's case once again to know more about Cascade. Chief Prince was seeming pretty alright given Jesse had woke up and was acting normally with her, so she didn't show any sign of anger towards him and ordered the team to investigate the cold case once again as Johan nervously laughed, saying it was a whole new experience for him.
