Plot[]

Two days after the events of the previous case, Ethan and the player strolled around the streets of Manchester as the Elite Force agent kept muttering about how the rain made him feel annoyed. Suddenly he smiled a little, recalling the last time he had come to the city two years ago to recruit Violetta who had begun to think that he was there to arrest her or something like that. The duo kept walking, talking softly and keeping an eye on everything, and soon they appeared at the local baseball ground. The rain splashed against their hoodies as they stood there for a minute, trying to understand how long the rain would go. However, Ethan claimed that he could see something hidden behind the bushes, prompting them to go there only to find the body of a freelancer named Storm Lawrence who got his head bashed in.

Ethan thought something for a few seconds before recognizing Storm as Violetta's ex-boyfriend since she had mentioned him once and said how much she hated him. Anyway, when Ethan said they were going to have to flag Violetta as a suspect, the team went to question the junior agent, who seemed glad to hear the news, saying it was a good riddance. Ethan turned skeptical and said it was making her suspicious, and she replied she didn't care about it and that a terrible, self-centered guy like Storm deserved to die before revealing how he had humiliated her every way possible after she had caught him cheating on her with another girl. Meanwhile, the team found an arrest warrant for Storm issued by the Manchester Police, prompting them to questioned the Chief of police, Billie Eastwood who claimed that Storm was Nolan's customer and that he was secretly a weapon dealer as well. Following his advise, Ethan and the player then searched the graveyard where they discovered that Storm had broken French intern journalist Lyall Buckley's camera which made them curious, so they went to interrogate Lyall who asked Ethan if Violetta was around. After Ethan explained him the situation, he nodded and said that he believed Storm was up to something which was why he had followed him once, only to make the victim grab him by his collar and threaten him not to do the same again. After finishing the autopsy, Nicholas said that the killer used a baseball bat to commit the murder and that it was only one swing, making him deduce the killer played baseball.

While recapping the case, Ethan and the player came across the victim's house, which they searched before flagging Storm's sister, Riley Lawrence, as a suspect since she had a fight with the victim shortly before his death. Besides, the player's friend, artist Julia Pryde was also suspected after the team found an almost 10 year older picture featuring her and her father Kevin Pryde with Storm. The team then went to question Julia who was delighted to see the player once again before informing she was living with her wife Stacy Harper currently and that she was quickly recovering. Ethan then asked how well she knew Storm, and she replied that she knew her only because of Kevin who liked him very much, but she didn't like him at all. However, as she didn't reveal the reason, the team went back to the station and decided to search the graveyard once again, where they came to know that Storm had given Lyall a message saying he knew the intern's secrets regarding his Scottish best friend Cassie Brown although Lyall refused to explain it to the team, and that Billie hated the victim a lot because he had treated Violetta terribly who was like a daughter to him, also because the victim also mocked his late daughter which caused him to be depressed once again.

Later on, Ethan and the player started talking how almost every suspects had bad memories with the victim, right when Ashley called the team and said that someone had broken inside the victim's house. Hearing so, the team rushed towards the house but as they couldn't find anyone, they decided to search around and soon found a diary thanks to which they learnt that Violetta was the one who had broken inside the house and that Storm was actually Jean's killer, since he had written it proudly. Being shocked, the team questioned Violetta again who snapped right after seeing them, saying she just wanted to bring Storm back to life and torture him until he died over and over. She explained she had confronted Storm four years ago about Jean's death, but that he had denied it and said it was good for Jean to die. Since then, Violetta kept blaming herself for the traumatic event and felt guilty as much as possible, but when she got the photo album from socialite Genevieve Merrills which featured the seminar of that dark day, she spotted Storm taking Jean to the lakeside, unlike the victim had claimed. This was enough for Violetta to understand what actually happened that day, understanding Storm did it only because she had broken up with him. Ethan then showed his condolences, and wished that she wasn't the killer. However, it was also revealed that Kevin hated that his daughter was lesbian and wanted Storm to marry her, which was why he ordered him to turn her straight by abusing her sexually, only for Storm to get his nose broken by Julia. Again, Riley was convinced Storm was hiding something from her and stopped talking with him since he was turning violent.

Finally, Ethan and the player got all the clues to indict Riley for her brother's murder.

As the rain was slowly turning into a shower, the team ran towards the victim's house and confronted Riley as fast as possible. When asked to explain her motive, Riley looked outside the window, thinking something deeply with a sad face. She then turned back and started revealing that she had found Storm's diary a few hours ago from where she could learn what he had done to Jean. She sighed and said that Jean was a brilliant guy and had potential to be a world-class investigator like his sister, but he had to die very early just because Storm was jealous of him. She explained Storm had never loved Violetta really, and that he had dated her because she was very intelligent and smart. Anyway, Riley could see how Storm was changing, as he was staying outside late and was going to shady places from his teenage, besides, he was being very aggressive as well. So, Riley had become suspicious and started to check his activities since a week ago, and she finally discovered that her brother was actually a weapon dealer and that his mentor was a notorious weapon dealer who was none other than Kevin. Understanding he had gone too far, Riley went to the baseball ground earlier that day and found him waiting for someone, and directly questioned him about his works but Storm didn't answer anything, instead said that it was none of her business before charging at her with his pocket knife, leaving Riley no choice but to use a baseball bat and swing it at him in order to save herself. Realizing what she had done, Riley stood there for a few minutes, but instead of feeling guilt, she felt relief, thinking how he had ruined countless people's lives, especially Violetta and Jean's. She then looked at Ethan, who was staring down. However, he said he couldn't believe sometimes how people could be that much evil as he arrested her and took her to the International Court where Judge Martin took everything into account and decided to sentence Riley to 2 years in house arrest for the murder, given it was self-defense and she was willing to cooperate in every way.

Post-trial, Violetta hugged Ethan as the latter asked her how she was now, and she replied it was good not to feel guilty anymore. Anyway, she went back to her room before asking the player a favour, as Ethan said they should search the victim's house in order to know more about the weapon dealings and its connection with the terrorist attacks.

Firstly, Ethan and the player went back to Storm's house where an old newspaper and a book caught their attention. The team then examined the newspaper which featured a secret MI6 operation, but as they couldn't read the whole article due to it being torn, they decided to send it to Ashley who after analysis informed them that the article was about Kevin Pryde's weapon dealership, and that it also said how he was caught while delivering nukes to his buyer. Ethan wondered why everything was leading them to Kevin, and Ashley replied she had no idea since Kevin had got murdered by the same agent who had caught him, and that it was none other than Stacy Harper. Having a connection among Kevin, Julia, and Stacy, the team then went to see Stacy who was using crutch to walk, since she hadn't fully healed after getting shot by Luka Pericich. However, she hugged the player and said it was good to see them once again before saying Kevin had attacked the MI6 with his friends the day he had died since he got cornered, and that they couldn't even almost recognize his body since it was totally burnt. Ethan asked if she knew about any active, hidden organization around the British Isles, and she rolled her eyes, saying that thought had come to her mind once or twice, and that it was very possible. So, She advised them to be careful, saying Kevin was a person who didn't like to be messed with and that how things were leading to him wasn't looking good. She then left the place after saying that Kevin had a headquarter in Edinburgh, and that they should go back to Scotland in order to know more about his connections with the terrorist attacks.

Meanwhile, the team found some weird scribbles inside Storm's book, prompting them to question Riley about them. After having a look, Riley said that it was a secret code language she and Storm had invented to play guessing game back in childhood. Riley stopped a bit, since it was reminding her of the good old times, but anyway, she said that the scribbles were about some shipments which Storm had hidden at the baseball ground. Understanding Storm had gone there earlier to hide the weapons that he had got from Nolan, the team went to search the ground where they found a crate. After unlocking it, the team found a lot of weapons inside it. Ethan said they should let the expert take a look as they sent it to Mikhail, who after analysis said that they had found all the weapons Nolan had sent to Storm, and that he had already sent the weapons back where they came from. Anyway, Mikhail scratches his head, and said that Lena could find Lyall's fingerprints on the crate's lock, prompting them to question the intern journalist who claimed that he had followed Storm and that that was how he could find the crate. Ethan asked why he hadn't informed them at the first place, and he replied that he had reasons to do so, and that he had no connection with Storm, saying the murder investigation should have made it clear. Ethan got his point and warned him, and told him not to mess with dangerous people since they were capable of doing anything.

In the meantime, the team went to Violetta's room and asked what favour she needed. She smiled, saying she was feeling very relieved after it was finally proved that she wasn't the one who caused Jean's death. However, she said that she had bought a special bouquet for Jean's grave, and that she had forgot it somewhere at the graveyard and needed the player's help to find it. So, the duo then went outside after the player put on a raincoat, but Violetta said she liked the rain so she wouldn't bother to do so. They then walked towards the graveyard and searched around after reaching there, and after a few minutes they could find the bouquet. Violetta took the flower bouquet and then the team went in front of Jean's grave as Violetta put the bouquet on it, before asking the player to send Ellie to the graveyard. As the player asked why, she replied she had something to tell her and that she'd wait for them, and the player went to the headquarter and returned with Ellie after a few minutes. Ellie, who was wearing a raincoat and holding an umbrella, asked Violetta why she had asked her to go there when it was raining despite knowing she hated rain. Violetta then smiled as she recalled the question Ellie had asked a few days ago in Liverpool before apologizing for acting bluntly that day. Ellie blushed but said that it didn't matter and that what truly mattered was that she was finally free from her guilt after all those years. Violetta nodded, and the trio then went back to the car silently where Ellie gave Violetta a towel which she took before thanking the profiler for being with her and supporting her when she needed someone the most. Violetta then told Ellie to close her eyes, saying she had a gift to give her, and Ellie raised her eyebrow but did so anyway as Violetta pressed her lips against Ellie's, making the latter get surprised, but she did the same anyway. After kissing each other for almost a minute, Violetta whispered she'd be glad to have her as her girlfriend, causing Ellie to kiss her again passionately, making them both get lost in a pool of happiness.

Finally, back to the station, Ethan expressed his concern about Kevin, saying he wasn't finding his stories good, right when Chief Salminen said that Stacy had a point, and that they'd go to Edinburgh now. Suddenly, Violetta's phone rang and she looked at the screen which showed an unknown number. She thought to cut the call but took it anyway, and Lyall spoke up from the other side, saying he was calling her from a phone booth and ordered her to act casually. As Violetta hinted she would do so, Lyall explained he couldn't Ethan anything because he didn't know who to trust, but since Violetta had trusted him before he felt like he could trust her. He then told her to deliver Cassie, who lived in Edinburgh, a message as he said he was sorry for blocking her in social medias and that she'd need to get rid of her devices and keep it in mind she was being followed. He then cut the call after saying he'd be at London and that he'd tell them his secrets after the EASD ensured her safety, as Ellie asked Violetta who had called her, and she replied it was just a friend and that she was feeling excited to go back to Scotland.
