Murder in Fashion is a case featured in Criminal Case as the fifth case of Adventures in Paris. It is the fifth and final case to take place in New Streets region.
Plot[]
After finding out that Valerie is kidnapped and the collection is stolen once again, Esmeralda revealed that she located Valerie surprisingly in Jolie's own boutique. Chief assigned Charlotte and the player to go to the boutique and save Valeria and the collection. After they finally arrived at the boutique, they slowly enter inside, seeing only dark. As Charlotte turns on the lights, the duo notices Valerie tied up, unconscious, and the body of the mayor Mireille Bonnet, strangled. They quickly untied Valerie as she slowly started to wake up, saying that someone kidnapped her and brought her here. Valerie also said that after some time, a mysterious person came with the mayor to the boutique, and all she heard was screaming in another room before she got knocked out by the same person. Knowing that Valerie's kidnapper is also the mayor's killer and the one who stole the collection, they decided to continue with the investigation and added model Jolie Blanchet, fashion photographer Eric Argent and businesswoman Aubrey Blair to the suspect list. After returning Valerie to the headquarters, Charlotte and the player went inside to recap the case, when suddenly the lights went off.
As the lights turned off, Esmeralda told everyone not to move until she turns the lights on, since all of this could be the work of the mayor's killer. After Esmeralda turned the lights on, Charlotte and the player decided to carry on with the investigation, afterward investigating the restaurant that the mayor frequently visited, and her office as well, eventually adding the lawyer Reginald Carpenter and historian Vittorino Florentini to the suspect list. The duo learned that Mireille owed money to Aubrey after the former lost in their game of poker and that Eric destroyed the mayor's statue after he got drunk. Soon after, the duo returned to the headquarters and decided to recap the case when they heard a loud bang outside. There, they saw Rebekka gripping her bloody shoulder and collapsing in front of them...
Charlotte and the player quickly approached collapsed Rebekka, who seemed to get shot in the shoulder and took her to Josseline, suspecting that the mysterious person was responsible for that too. After making sure that Rebekka will be okay, the duo investigated the restaurant and boutique once again. They learned that the victim accidentally killed Jolie's dog, refused to pay Reginald for getting her cousin out of prison, and that Vittorino got into a fight with Mireille since she thought he didn't know anything about the history of Paris. With the last piece of evidence, they arrested Vittorino.
The duo approached Vittorino, who was looking at his history books and accused him of murdering the mayor, theft, and hurting two police members. He denied the accusations at first but cracked under pressure and confessed everything. When asked to explain, Vittorino made an evil smirk and sighed. Vittorino continued saying how they already know that Evonne had a group of friends that got tortured and bullied and that he was in it. However, as their group fell apart and only he and Evonne left, they deduced they'll have more money for themselves. So, since Jolie's collection caught their attention, he stole it and, they decided to sell it after. However, as Evonne got caught, he had to hide it per her commands. But, much to his shock, he later found out that Evonne had a deal with the mayor: to split the money they'd get from the collection and give nothing to Vittorino, just using him to do their dirty work. Since Evonne got caught, he made a plan to kill the mayor and take all the money for himself after selling the collection, while he kidnapped Valerie and shot Rebekka in the shoulder to distract them. Disgusted by his actions and lust for the money, Charlotte took her handcuffs and tried to handcuff him. Vittorino instantly replied that he wouldn't spend a day in the prison and threw a smoke bomb. After the smoke cleared up, Vittorino was nowhere to be seen. Charlotte determinedly said that they need to find him as soon as possible since the collection is probably still in the boutique.
After the heated arrest, the player and Charlotte inhaled some fresh air and went to tell everything to the chief. After doing so, they decided to go to the boutique and hopefully return the collection to Jolie. They quickly rushed there and found the locked door. After they unlocked the door, they were in a secret room. Luckily for them, the collection was there, safe and sound, so they returned it to Jolie, who thanked them so much and invited them to her fashion show later today. The duo decided to search around the boutique again and found a map of Paris, which they sent to Lorraine. Lorraine excitedly revealed that the map is Vittorino's, as she has found his skin cells and a marked spot: nearby forest. Knowing that Vittorino could be there, they rushed there. After going through the forest for a few minutes, they finally found him. Vittorino turned around and quickly grabbed his gun, shooting at the duo. They managed to duck down and avoid the bullets. He turned around to get more bullets, but Charlotte tackled him and handcuffed him, taking him to the trail, where Judge Eleonora sentenced him to life in prison.
After finally returning the collection and arresting the troublemaker, the duo got approached by Madeline Marie, new mayor candidate. Madeline explained that she lost her mayor application paper around the former mayor's office, and she would be delighted if they return them to her. After searching around the office, they found the papers and gave them back to Madeline, who appreciated their help and left.
The next day, after arriving at the headquarters, the player got approached by the chief, who congratulated them on a well-done job. Suddenly, the phone rang. Adrienna picked up the call and literature professor Georgia Webb, who called them, insisted on them coming to the university since she has found a body of a student there. After the call ended, the team prepared to go to the university...
