Dr. Julian Ackroyd is the killer of male supermodel Fred Kendrick in "Murder Can Be Hazardous" (Case 6) and the mastermind of the murder of Sarah Doherty in the previous case "Thick Skinned" (Case 5). Prior to that, Dr. Ackroyd was a suspect in the murder of Millie Reed in "Tree-Hugger" (Case 3). Dr. Ackroyd then returns in the Town Of Wisterias district, as a central figure and the murder victim in "To End All Wars" (Case 42).

Dr. Ackroyd was a Caucasian 47-year-old scientist who worked alongside Dr. Damian Mallory in a research program regarding biochemical fuel for robots. He has greying blond hair and brown eyes, the doctor also sported a lab coat over a grey sweater with black and blue stripes that covered a white shirt underneath. In his initial appearance in "Tree-Hugger", it was discovered that Dr. Ackroyd read survivalist handbooks and owned a pet husky.

Murder Details

Upon finally figuring out where Dr. Ackroyd was hiding after his escape, Lt. Brian Thatcher and the player pursued the mad scientist in the underground laboratory, where they found Dr. Ackroyd violently convulsing and foaming out of his gas mask.

According to Dr. Graham Fraser, the cause of death was inhalation of poisonous mushroom spores coming from the Armageddon mushroom. It was determined that the killer lined mushroom spores in Dr. Ackroyd's gas mask so that, as be is performing experiments in the laboratory, he would inhale the spores, shutting down his nervous system. Dr. Fraser added that handling the mushroom is quite risky and, as the situation indicates, the killer knows how to handle such fungus. So, this determined that the killer is a HAZCHEM (hazardous chemical) expert.

Killer and Motive

Dr. Julian Ackroyd's killer turned out to be Vic Gallegos, street gang leader Chico Gallegos' younger brother.
