Prior to his promotion to the force, he was a suspect in the murder investigations of two people before he was revealed to be the killer of his father, escaped convict Jonathan Sully in Terminal Velocity (Case #7 of The North American Adventure). He was then later released in Giddy Up and Die (Case #16 of The North American Adventure), where he joined the North American Elite Force.
41 years of age, Joshua is the North American Elite Force's profiler and the author of The Mystery Continues.
In his first suspect appearance, he is wearing a cowboy outfit that includes a leather vest. It is revealed that he knows how to fight, drinks cider and plays dominoes.
In his second suspect appearance, he is wearing a suit that consists of a white collared shirt and a striped tie under a blue blazer. It is discovered that he smokes, drinks champagne and practices ballroom dancing.
In his third appearance, he appears in a tweed vest and a white collared shirt. It is known that he eats meatloaf, knows chemistry and has read Game of Flames.
In his appearances from Giddy Up and Die and forward, he appears in his cowboy outfit that consists of a red striped collared shirt and an orange vest under a dusty maroon and blue-grey cowboy jacket. He also is seen with gear googles, an badge of the NAEF and an ammunition belt.

As the Profiler of the North American Elite Force, Joshua has the responsibility of analyzing physical objects and/or clues that cannot be analyzed flawlessly through bio-forensics or digital analysis, but instead through psychological analysis, and to return the results after a certain amount of time or a speed-up process using Criminal Case Cash. His task-wait rates varies depending on the difficulty of the task, but they all cost 1 Criminal Case Cash per 30 minutes.
