Events of Justice Department

In the murder investigation of A.S.I. private consultant Phillip Daley, Hermes was flagged as a suspect when his 'Death On The Occidental Cruise' book was found in the Phillip's picnic basket. Hermes, saddened over the recent death of his colleague, claimed that Phillip borrowed it. Hermes expressed further that they have formed a friendship over their passion in crime solving.

Hermes was interrogated again when the police found out that he tore Phillip's award certificate. He explained that he and Phillip are 'frenemies', competing in solving the most puzzling crime. However, when Phillip solved the murder of the astronaut in space, Hermes lost his temper and tore the certificate. When A.S.I. Agent Kate Wong expressed her suspicion towards his actions, Hermes claimed that they made up in the end.

In the end, Hermes was found innocent after it was revealed that A.S.I. senior agent Nick Daniels was behind Phillip's murder. Later on, A.S.I. Director Jonathan Fellowes and the player ask for Hermes' help in choosing the best candidate to take Agent Daniels' place. Upon providing the background information for each candidate, Chief Fellowes and the player have determined that field agent Eric Wayne was the best candidate.
