Found in Jakarta is a case featured in Criminal Case, appearing as the fifth case of the game. It is the fifth case set in the season of World Edition (Brookley) and also the fifth one to take place in the Oceania region.
Plot[]
With the drug trafficking's origin revealed to be the Indonesian capital and largest city of Jakarta, the team made their way towards the city, knowing they had to investigate. Elite force agent Tamara Sipangkar decided to take charge, before she reluctantly confessed that they could make their way to her father Isidoor Sipangkar, who had been in the city of Jakarta, and owned a flat there. She then confessed that her mother Edna often spent nights in the UNODC labrotories, and that they should talk with her father. The duo went to his flat, with the authorization of Chief Lombardi only to find his itineary to meet an old friend at the National Monument of Indonesia. Tamara and the player went to the National Monument, only to find a commotion and a group of people surrounding the beheaded body of Isidoor lying on the ground, Tamara's face turning cold fast, before declaring she would investigate.
A cold Tamara then declared that the first suspect would unfortunately be her mother, Edna Sipangkar. She then sighed, saying that she could sense the worse things, before Edna declared that she stayed away from Isidoor, and wouldn't be the killer at any costs. The team suspected scientist Emanuelle Lessy, who confessed to being one of Edna's co-workers, and said that she had offered the father a business card for medical tests. The team also found evidence to investigate the Thousand Islands where they found evidence to suspect exchange student from Java, named Eunice Dasopang, who grabbed her bag tightly, confessing she did not know the victim personally. The team also learned from Elisandra, that the killer ate nasi goreng, and Tamara refused to test the hand cream she was offering. The team also learned from Reyansh that the killer knew nail-art due to traces on the murder weapon, a sword, before Forrest rushed in with the victim's last location.
The team learned that the victim's last location was the Gereja Cathedral, and that the victim had met with somebody there. The team went to the cathedral, where Tamara identified one of the brooches belonging to her father's old friend Idse Sitanala. Idse denied all the murder accusations, claiming he was just catching up with an old friend, claiming they had parted ways at the Merdeka Square, near the National Monument. The team also suspected tourist Katherine Bailey who pointed out how Varinka was much more comfortable with suspect interrogation, causing Tamara to storm off. The team also found that the killer has washed off blood on piano playing guidelines, proving they planed the piano, before the team talked to Edna who rejected the victim after he tried to get back together, saying that she didn't trust the victim enough. The team also learned that the reason the victim parted ways with Idse, and was in the National Monument, was because he was leading a school trip, which had Eunice, but Eunice said that a lot of the students fled after the murder was reported. The team then stood in the corridors, before the team learned that the victim had a fight with one of their suspects.
The team rushed to the Gereja Cathedral where they found security footage, which revealed that Idse had a fight with Isidoor. Idse then revealed that they argued over political issues, declearing that Isidoor was too conservative. The team walked out of the interrogation room, Tamara slowly nodding to the player that she agreed with Idse over her own father, confessing she didn't want to talk about her family situation. The team also found that the victim had tried to turn over Katherine to the police, after he got a video of her speeding, but Katherine bribed him down, causing Tamara to comment how she had so much money. The team finally learned that Isidoor had found a packet of drugs near his house, handing it over to Emanuelle instead of Edna, but Emanuelle shrugged it off. Finally, the team placed the clues together and the culprit was revealed to be Eunice.
The school girl denied all accusations against her, telling the team that she was innocent, and was just trying to better her own future, and not ruin it completely. Tamara brought forth the evidence, forcing Eunice to confess. Eunice broke down in tears, saying that she had no choice, but to murder Isidoor, saying that the only reason she had gotten into the exchange programme was to escape her abusive home in Java. Tamara angrily told her to elaborate, before Eunice said that she was emotionally and physically abused at her home, showing the bruises on her arms. She then said that she worked hard to get the scholarship and then she planned to cut her family off, once she was in Jakarta and was 18. She then said that she had been stealing from her richer classmates, to stabilize herself for a while, but Isidoor had gotten suspicious on the school trip, and called her parents, and her parents confirmed that they hadn't given her that much money. At the national monument gallery, Isidoor confronted Eunice, before saying that her parents would pick her up in a few hours. The student got nervous, and in a fit of rage, grabbed a sword from one of the walls and beheaded Isidoor. Judge Darrell Binder said that the circumstances of the case were not nice, before sentencing the exchange student to 7 years in prison, and rehabilition into society once she was released.
Tamara exited the court-room quickly, followed by the team, and then Tamara detailed that she wanted to spend more time with her mother, especially after her shooting in Canberra, saying that she wanted to build a more personal relationship. The team decided to search the Gereja Cathedral, where Isidoor had kept some old family photos, and Tamara commented on how that reminded of her simpler times, saying that her personal life was a mess, before with the help of Mitsuo, the photos were organized in an album. The team took the album, before Mitsuo explained that Edna was a much more future thinking kind of a person, while Tamara was more nostalgic, before he said that he had organized the newer photos first to represent optimism for the future. Tamara thanked him for her help, even though she confessed she wasn't feeling optimistic. The mother and daughter spent an afternoon with the images and a family dinner after Isidoor's death, before Tamara came back looking slightly dejected. She then confessed to the player that she had started a new relationship with Daniel Chavez previously but only revealed it to her mother by now. She then said that how her previous relationship had ended in a communication breakdown and a divorce, and Edna casted doubts about a long distance relationship with successful communication, the one area Tamara struggled at most, before Tamara stormed off.
On the other hand, Reyansh came to the player, saying that the crime in the continent of Oceania had been increasing, confirming that shipments of the drugs were all over the continent. The team decided to search the Thousand Islands, and the player questioned why Reyansh always seemed to have a personal vendetta against crime, rather than solving crime to bring justice, before Reyansh said that he didn't believe criminals could be redeemed. The duo found a satchel in the water surrounding the islands, and Reyansh brought it back to the lab in Jakarta, and told the player to wait for a while, until he analyzed the journal. A few hours later, Reyansh revealed that the journal revealed that the drug scheme leader knew that prime minister Vincent Knight was working against the drugs, and had organized an attack against him. Knowing that such an attack could bring the leader into light, the team decided to contact Vincent as soon as possible.
Tamara then returned from the team's main headquarters, saying that she wanted to wipe out the drug scheme in Jakarta as soon as possible, before she revealed that she believed that Emanuelle Lessy could have something to do with it. Emanuelle denied all involvement in the drugs, saying that her lab was a safe place for anybody to work in. A furious Tamara decided to search Emanuelle's last known place before reaching the lab, the National Monument, where the team found a box of drugs under a pile of floorboards. Tamara shocked at the box sent them to lab as soon as possible. Bridget then revealed the drugs and said that they were the same ones as found in Perth, and that they had been created in Emanuelle's lab. The lab chief however revealed that the fingerprints on the drugs matched Idse Sitanala's confessing that he had been sneaking into the lab and helped in the drug creation. Bridget, Tamara and the player rushed over to arrest the old man, who refused to say anything at all, being sentenced to life imprisonment. Tamara then bashed Emanuelle for her carelessness that any old man could sneak in and tamper with the drugs, before storming off.
Back in the team's Jakarta offices, Chief Lombardi recapped the events so far, saying that the drug trafficking had been stopped in Jakarta. The team then realized that the drug kingpin was gonna attack Vincent, before a frazzled Forrest rushed in, saying that the prime minister of New Zealand was holding a conference at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. With no time to waste, the team set off to protect Vincent, and hopefully stop the drug scheme.
