|“||After finding out Miles Tyson and Kevin Pryde are the same person, the team now has to go to Budapest in order to arrest Miles who seemingly made a stupid move by leaving his phone number. Anyways, a familiar person is waiting to be found by the team but sadly someone had bashed their head in using a crystal ball. The future collides with the past this time, and you can't make any mistake, so be careful to take warnings into account which the victim surely didn't.||„|
Forgotten Warnings from Future is a case featured in Criminal Case as the twelfth case of Mysterious Secrets of Europe (Season 2) and the sixty-eighth case overall. It is the fifth case to take place in the Central Europe region.
In order to find and arrest Miles Tyson who was previously revealed to be none other than Kevin Pryde, the team followed Lena's word and went to Budapest where she had tracked his phone. So, Chief Salminen called the Budapest PD and told the chief to place the whole city under lockdown as Violetta wandered around the city with the player before Sav messaged her, saying the police had found a body near the construction site, prompting the team to go there quickly only to find Dutch politician Pieter Ruben, whom they had met back in Amsterdam, lying dead with his head bashed in.
Wondering what Pieter was doing in Hungary, the team quickly evacuated the place before searching around, soon discovering that EDM singer Tobias Larsson had a fight with the victim whom the latter had accused of conspiring with other anti-political singers without having any proof. However, as he said that he had spotted the victim at the Heroes' Square the previous day, the team went there and found a bloody crystal ball, which they were able to register as the murder weapon. Anyways, as the crystal ball belonged to French fortune teller Avan de la Vega, the team went to question him who denied knowing nothing and explained that his bag had been stolen a while ago. Besides, a photo of time traveller Krystal Swift with a girl caused the player to recall their past before Violetta suggested they identify the unknown girl. After doing so, it was discovered that the girl was Krystal's sister Bianca Newton, who was currently 12, making the team wonder what to do ahead since the girl in the photo was in her early twenties. Anyway, suddenly 21-year-old Bianca approached them and recognized both of them, saying if everything remained alright they would meet in future. However, she then took her phone and wished them good luck with the investigation, saying she had more important things to do. Again, Nicholas said that the killer had threw coffee on the victim's face to make him temporary blind before murdering him, allowing him to deduce the killer drank coffee.
Later afterwards, the team were approached by Sav who informed them that a bunch of anti-political protestors were celebrating Pieter's death and hampering the lockdown in the process. Hearing so, the team quickly went to the main street where the Budapest PD members were trying their best to handle the situation. Understanding they wouldn't stop easily, the team decided to question the leader of the protestors, Adrienn Lukács, who after arguing with them a bit agreed to calm the other protestors for the being time being, explaining Pieter was a terrible person and politician who had done a lot of wrong things. However, as the protestors left the street, the team searched around quickly and added archeologist Eszter Kovács to the suspect list since she knew the victim thanks to her uncle, who had studied attended the University of Amsterdam with Pieter decades ago. Besides, it was also revealed that the victim had asked Avan about his future but insulted him publicly after he did so, since the fortune teller had speculated he'd die soon, while Bianca turned out to be the one who had lured Pieter to the crime scene. When interrogated, Bianca narrowed her eyes and admitted of doing it, saying that in order to fix the timeline Pieter had to die and that in an alternate timeline the politician was supposed to cause a lot of problems which would ruin millions of people's lives, including two of her friends, Andrew Gemstone and Emery Stark, who had suffered their whole life before dying in a terrible way in that very timeline.
As the team recapped the case perplexing case, Violetta got a call from Adrienn who said that the protestors had managed to catch Miles while he was trying to run away. The team then quickly went to the main street where they noticed Miles strapped on a chair. As they approached him, Miles smirked and asked how was their investigation going, and Violetta replied it would take a whole new turn with him behind bars. Hearing so, Miles laughed and said that no prison would be able to keep him inside, especially Budapest PD, given he knew everything about it. Violetta then thanked Adrienn for catching him before calling Chief Salminen who ordered the team to bring him to the headquarter. After doing so, the team came back to the street and searched once again, and found some clues which allowed them to learn that Pieter had suspected something fishy was going on and confronted Tobias about supernatural hunter Newt Darkstone, asking what they had exactly done back in Alpha Bay, since he couldn't retrieve any information about the time travellers thanks to FBI director Janice Maxwell hiding them, however, as Tobias didn't tell him anything, Pieter had turned forceful and started pressuring him roughly, causing the singer to punch him in his face. Again, they also came to know that the victim had scarred Adrienn a while ago by sending her explicit photos of himself, and that Eszter had developed a grudge against the victim after he had suggested Dutch PM Sander van Dijk to restrict Hungarians from entering Netherlands which could hamper the archeologist's career for certain reasons.
After going back to the construction site, the team finally got the clues to determine that the killer was Eszter.
Not wanting to let the archeologist know they were after her, the team convinced her to come to the construction site. After she approached them, Violetta straightforwardly showed her all the clues and asked her to explain the motive. Eszter understood she wouldn't be able to reason with them, and said that they should actually thank her for taking care of a worthless person. Violetta grinned, saying Pieter had given her the wrong impression but she didn't know him enough to determine what he deserved, causing Eszter to grit her teeth and recall how Pieter and her uncle László Kovács were friends. Violetta pointed out she had revealed it already, and she continued by saying that she was very close with her László which was why she wasn't being able to forgive Pieter for what he had done to him. Being skeptical, Violetta asked what had happened between them, and she revealed that László and Pieter had met each other in the University of Amsterdam and eventually became best friends, at least that was what László thought until he learnt his supposed best friend was just using him to get his girlfriend. Being furious, László had confronted both his girlfriend and Pieter but they just decided to humiliate him publicly in front of the university students, causing László to end his career and forget his dreams, as he couldn't tolerate the humiliation. Eszter then started tearing up, saying she had never seen László again as he had left his home after sending them a single message revealing what Pieter had done to him. The archeologist then laughed and said that when she saw Pieter in Budapest, she knew she had finally got the chance to take her revenge and started to plan as for how to commit the murder, and suddenly earlier that day she got a message which literally instructed her how to do so. As this specified Bianca as the mastermind, Violetta muttered she didn't know what to do ahead because according to the time traveller it was necessary to fix the timeline so she wasn't being able to judge Eszter's action. However, as Eszter said that she didn't care about anything anymore given she was able to take her revenge, she was brought to the International Court where Judge Martin became quite confused thanks to the time travel matter, but decided to sentence her to 20 years in prison for the murder.
Post-trial, Bianca appeared at the headquarter and said that she didn't come to 2021 just to mastermind a murder, and that she needed their help in finding a particle, as Chief Salminen ordered the player to go with him and talk with Sander who was willing to have a meeting with them.
So firstly, Bianca said that she was trying to find Nidomenium (the rarest element of the world) which were allowing them to travel in time although using it correctly was quite tiresome and problematic. Violetta wondered if they were using a time machine, and Bianca shook her head, saying it'd be easier to use a time machine but none of them were able to build one, and that the only person who was able to build it in the original timeline was Swedish tech savvy Stella Mercury but she didn't even exist in their altered timeline, so they were using Nidomenium as an alternative. Violetta muttered the things were too complicated for her to take in, causing Bianca to laugh and say it was fair. However, Bianca admitted she wasn't understanding what to do ahead and that she was running out of Nidomenium as well, and Violetta suggested they go see Stella who might be able to do something about it. So, Violetta asked Lena if she could track Stella down, and she revealed it was quite easy given the director of Swedish Intelligence, Heather Mercury was currently attending a ceremony right in Budapest, so Stella was bound to be there as well. After taking the coordinates from the tech expert, the trio went to see Stella whom Bianca told everything, causing her to give a forced smile as it was hard for her to know she wouldn't even exist in another timeline. Anyway, Stella recognized Nidomenium and said that most of the scientists believed it didn't actually exist given it was supposed to let people travel in time. Bianca smirked and said that she was aware about it, and Stella replied she had did some researches about the element anyway and that she believed Nidomenium existed but that it wouldn't always let the time traveller go where they wanted to, as it would cause some problems and might take them to a wrong place/time. As the time traveller nodded, Stella told her that she could talk with her best friend, Swedish-American supernatural enthusiast Scarlett Wilde since she was always fascinated about it and might know where to find it even. Bianca became excited for a second before asking where they could find her, and Stella shrugged, saying she was in the city too since her father was a Swedish agent, and that she was probably taking a stroll around. As she pointed out she had last seen her at the Heroes' Square where they parted their ways while coming back from the ceremony, Bianca advised her to call Scarlett. But despite calling thrice, no one took the call, prompting the quartet to go to the Heroes' Square where they found Scarlett's phone. In order to know where she was, the team unlocked the phone and sent it to Lena as Stella said she was too tired to check it out. After analyzing the phone, Lena revealed Scarlett had most probably gone to the House of Terror since she had taken a lot of notes about it, prompting the team to rush towards the museum where they found her. However, Scarlett apologized, saying she had forgot her phone accidentally since she was too excited about the museum, and Bianca asked her if she knew about Nidomenium, and Scarlett nodded, saying she even had a vague idea as for how to get it. Bianca then looked at Violetta and the player and thanked them, saying she would take it from there before winking, saying they were going to have a lot of fun together in future. Anyway, she then left the place with Scarlett and Stella before whispering that Dark Empire wasn't the player's only enemy and that they should be careful.
Meanwhile, Chief Salminen met Sander with the player who seemed aggressive, as he asked how far the EASD was in plotting against the countries of Central Europe. Chief Salminen seemed unsure, however, he asked what he was talking about, and Sander asked him back if they could see how the British government was trying to take over their region. Chief Salminen placidly said that things seemed different to him given Sander himself was trying to build an army to start a war with the British, and the PM punched the table before coming closer. He then looked right at Chief Salminen's eyes, asking how'd he explain British PM Clifford Fletcher and MI6 director Madison Walker appointing a secret agent to collect information about the systems of the Central European countries. Chief Salminen then replied he hated to admit he didn't know anything about it, causing Sander to say that they should start working properly then, since he wouldn't tolerate any other problems, especially after losing one of his most trusted politicians. He then advised them to find his documents regarding the agent which he had misplaced at the main street, prompting the team to go to the place. After looking around, the duo found the documents which were sent to Lena who after analysis seemed shocked. Chief Salminen asked her what was wrong, and she showed him the analysis results, saying the agent in question was none other than Ashley's mother Mieke Steinberg. As it seemed confusing, Lena revealed Mieke was actually a German agent who had retired from German Intelligence before marrying Erik Steinberg and becoming a teacher thirty years ago, believing the Central Europeans were up to no good. So, she decided to keep her identity as a former agent a secret from everyone. But seeing how the situation was getting tense slowly, Mieke wasn't being able to stay at home and started investigation on her own under a low profile almost ten years ago when Ashley was eighteen, soon predicting the British Isles and Central Europe would get engaged in a war. After deliberating a lot, she had finally contacted Madison eight years ago in order to join the MI6, as she had made up her mind to betray her region and get the British information about the politicians' plans, and only Madison and Clifford were aware about it. Chief Salminen muttered it was quite intense, and Lena revealed she couldn't find anything else and that they should talk with Ashley about it. So, the duo then approached Ashley who couldn't believe that her mother was ever an agent, since she believed she was always a teacher. However, she then started connecting the events, and speculated her father Erik Steinberg might have murdered her after finding out she was an agent given he was a patriotic person. Chief Salminen advised her not to jump to any conclusions, and she replied it was actually making sense since Mieke had died after their car crashed which left Erik merely injured although he was inside the same car. Besides, Erik had also blurted out how she had bullet wounds when she and Manuel were insisting to see her body. Chief Salminen said they should talk with Erik about it, and Ashley called him right then. After the retired soldier received the call, Ashley started shouting as she wanted answers from him about Mieke being a secret agent. Erik simply shut her down, saying Mieke was only a teacher and that instead of screaming without any reason she should have taken care of Manuel. Ashley raised her eyebrow, asking what happened to her brother but Erik cut the call, prompting Lena to track him to the construction site where Ashley and Chief Salminen went with the player and found a note which was addressed to Erik. Ashley then read the note and turned pale since it told Erik to stay silent unless he wanted Manuel dead who was currently with them. Ashley then became paranoid as Erik approached them and sighed, saying he always knew her bias would lead her to a dead end forever. Ashley almost lost her temper but somehow kept her cool and asked him where was Manuel, and Erik revealed the Berlin PD was currently working on finding him as Chief Salminen asked him why'd someone want him to remain silent and what was it about, causing Erik to facepalm as he claimed to know nothing. Right then, he got a call from German senior investigator Suzanne Maier who informed him Manuel was taken to Katowice but that they didn't know the exact location. Hearing so, Erik quickly left the place, advising Ashley not to come in their way, as he believed Berlin PD would be able to solve the matter.
Back at the headquarter, as Violetta shared their discoveries with others, Nicholas tried to calm Ashley down but she had become too furious after learning her mother was actually an agent who literally betrayed her own region and that her brother was kidnapped. Anyway, Chief Salminen claimed there had to be something at Katowice, since Malcolm Bentley was very excited about his mission of Poland as well, and everything seemed to be connected with that country. He then ordered Violetta and the player to get Miles out after thinking a bit, saying they'd take him to Katowice too. Being unsure about his intention, the team wondered what was he thinking to do so but went to visit Miles anyway, who couldn't stop smirking at them, saying it all would end in Katowice, or else- there would be a new start of an era.
