Oh, from Marthin Farren's days! I do remember that the truck was actually a cover-up for something else, but I don't know what exactly. I'll go through the company's old documents and tell you about anything I discover.
Harry Buddock, CEO of BlueChoco, talking to the player about the robbery that got Reuben Thacks sentenced to death.

Flight Of Fantasy is the sixteenth case in PetersCorporal's second season, Blue Coasts, as well as the second one in the City Center district.

Case Background

The case starts with the player and Jerry Bryar dropping Natalia Ferreyra off at the airport, so she could leave in a plane along with Sharlyn Wetton and return to her homeland safely, instead of staying in Blue Coasts to keep being exploited and mistreated by Madeline Maxwell (one of the leaders/pimps of The Kitty Cats). Shortly after they entered the plane, Sharlyn reported that Randy Cohen, the pilot of their secret CIA flight, had exited the plane for unknown reasors and been murdered. This meant that until the case was solved, Natalia wouldn't be able to escape due to the plane being a crime scene and her being a murder suspect. Moreover, the plane's co-pilot was Andrew Bolstein, a previous murder suspect in an investigation in Townville.

Shockingly, Eva Dominique stormed into the HQ and asked the team about a rumor she'd heard that the police was helping someone (Natalia) escape in an airplane. Since Natalia's escape was a secret operation and Eva had also shown suspicious behavior, Jerry told her that it was just a secret flight so Sharlyn could leave, since a CIA agent's missions could not be of public knowledge. Eva was not convinced but decided to leave, not before telling the player and Jerry to go to the airport and investigate why that plane wasn't leaving.

After finding a suspicious backpack on the passengers' seats, it was discovered that Randy was smuggling drugs in his flights' luggage. Moreover, Madeline Maxwell appeared at the police HQ to report Natalia as missing, just as Hans Rougel was going over the details of the Candace Hunter case. Since Madeline had seen the papers and the photos of Candace, this meant that The Kitty Cats already knew that the police were investigating them. With Natalia's boss searching for her, the killer would have to be caught soon before she was found.

The police eventually managed to gather enough evidence to arrest Kenichi Nakajima, a TSA agent, for the murder. During the investigation, it had been discovered that Randy was selling drugs to Naoko Nakajima, his sister, and was now in hospital because of her addiction. Since Kenichi had heard from Andrew that the flight was a secret operation to help someone escape, Kenichi assumed that Randy was escaping because of his crimes and that he was leaving with 10,000 dollars that Naoko had given to him. At the thought of the person responsible for his sister's suffering escaping, he ordered Randy to leave the plane and shot him, also taking back the cheque from his wallet. In a special session held that very afternoon, Peggy Jasmine oversaw Kenichi's trial and sentenced him to 18 years in jail with parole in 8, as well as frequent psychotherapy sessions for as long as deemed necessary.

Now that the plane could leave with Natalia and Sharlyn inside, all they needed was a pilot to replace the victim. Violet Nearnight went with the player to ask Andrew to fly the plane, and also to ask him about the mysterious person from Townville who had arrived in Blue Coasts to take revenge on Hansel Brondele's death, as they had learnt during the baseball case. Thanks to Andrew, it was discovered that Pablo Sount (who had been a suspect in Hansel's murder) was now living in Blue Coasts, but he had barely got to know Hansel. This meant that he was not the one looking for revenge, since that was apparently a friend of Hansel.

On the other hand, before the plane left, James Robert and the player started investigating the victim's drug dealing business, only to find out that Randy Cohen had been working for Dwight Ballaffinte (who had also been close to George Aker, the man that Sharlyn had killed in the yacht party case). Thomas Ravens discovered that Dwight had also been behind the English cocaine smuggling that the player and James had investigated after the snowy beach case. This explained why CIA had been after George Aker, since he was not only smuggling weapons into the city's party scene but also drugs. Sharlyn admitted that CIA had assigned Randy to fly that plane on purpose, since he was gonna meet a contact once they arrived at Colombia. This meant that Dwight Ballaffinte (a relative of Vaninna Ballaffinte) was at the front of an international drug dealing scheme.

Before Andrew flew her back to Colombia, Natalia gave to the player a list of all of the prostitutes she knew from The Kitty Cats. After Thomas investigated, he said that a very high percentage of them were young trans people since they are the most vulnerable due to getting kicked out of their homes or not being given other job opportunities. However, he found an NGO sheltering and helping homeless trans youth called the Lavender Project, and saw that Harry Buddock, the CEO of BlueChoco, was making large donations to them. Jerry and the player asked him to donate more so that they could prevent more trans youth falling victim to The Kitty Cats, and Buddock agreed to launch a new product whose sales would be entirely donated to the Lavender Project. They also asked him about Reuben Thacks's robbery of the BlueChoco merchant truck, and he said that he didn't know much about it but that he remembered from hearing the story that the truck was a cover-up for something else, and agreed to investigate more from the company's old documents.

Right before Natalia's plane left, someone left her a note stuck to one of the plane's windows, saying that if she ever returned to Blue Coasts, they'd do to her what they'd done to Candace Hunter. After identifying traces of a plant from the Evergreen Wetlands on the note, Jerry had a search ordered to find what The Kitty Cats were hiding in the wetlands.
