Esme Laverne was a suspect in the murder investigations of aspiring writer Ansley Vergotti in A Storm in a Teapot (Case #16 of Secrets of Yahatu) and interviewer Tamat Loren in Come to Blows (Case #18 of Secrets of Yahatu). In Crash the Party (Case #19 of Secrets of Yahatu), she was exposed to be the kidnapper of se ven diff ere nt peo ple and the evil force controlling the Cobblestone Village before getting murdered in Dark Magic and a Twisted Fate (Case #20 of Secrets of Yahatu).
