Ernest is a man from Townville who wanted to achieve major goals in his life and he associated them with money and wealth. Not being able to do it with work and effort (or knowing he'd have to wait a lot this way), he became a professional thief and one of the most famous in the city. The only professional thief as good as him was Barbara Thacks, who became an active criminal many years after Ernest. At one point, he was one of the richest people in Townville and one of the most feared but also admired. The local police managed to arrest him after one of his heists and since then he hasn't left jail.

- Dead End, Case #17 in Townville:
Yale Williams was one of the suspects in this murder investigation. When the team found out that she was using the name "Susan Vianne", they confronted her about this and she confessed that she was the daughter of Ernest Williams. People used to treat her like a criminal because of her father, so she didn't want to be shunned anymore and came up with a fake name. She asked the team to keep her secret.
- Purchase A Murder, Case #19 in Townville:
In this case, Yale went to the Sount armory to buy a handgun for personal defense. When she was filling in the forms to buy a weapon, Ignace Sount noticed that she was Ernest's daughter and not "Susan Vianne". He decided to kill her to put an end to crime in Townville because he assumed that Yale was a criminal as her father was.
