Donald Trippier was a suspect in the murder investigation of local shopkeeper Hector Stewart in Struck with Lightning (Case #1 of Alpha Bay).

Events of Crimimal Case
Struck with Lightning
Donald saw Hector(though he couldn't and didn't identify him) burnt to the crisp and informed the Police as soon as possible. When he was interrogated, he told that he was the security guard of the tower (where Hector was killed). And he didn't even try to identify Hector.
He was interrogated again when the team (Susan & the player) found out he broke in Hector's shop. Domald told that he went there to take back his money because Hector borrowed money from him and never returned.
He was questioned again because he told Ramona Stewart, the victim's wife to dovorce the victim. He revealed that Ramona and he were classmates and if Ramona wouldn't marry Hector, she might be an electronics whizz then. But she couldn't as Hector was over-protective and didn't let her study. As a good friend, Donald advised Ramona to do so.
These incidents made Donald the prime suspect of the case, who had motives and great chances to kill Hector. But he was found innocemt as Richard Stamford was incarcerated for Hector's murder. The team after helped him by finding him the tower's keys.
