—Case Teaser

Class Dismissed is a case featured in Criminal Case, it appears as the thirty-first case in The Syndicate and the thirty-first case overall. It takes place as the first case in the Ridgeview Academy district of Easthaven.

Following Raymond Henderson's murder at the hands of BISHOP, the team struggled to come to terms with the loss, before officers led a handcuffed Margot Valentine down the hallway, screaming, crying, and pleading she was innocent. They soon rushed to question Margot, where she revealed she'd been arrested for the murder of her fashion professor, Frau Bryant, who had taken up a new career after losing his carnival. Daphne then vowed to clear her daughter's name and hurried with the player to Margot's fashion amphitheatre, in Ridgeview Academy, where they found Frau dead against the wall, his body blasted to bits. Daphne soon confirmed Frau was killed by a concentrated blast to the chest, but was unable to identify the weapon. After questioning Margot, they returned to campus, finding reason to suspect gothic fashion student Europa Cummings and her girlfriend, gothic outcast Bellona Fortuna, who were both talking about the afterlife. As they began recapping, Daphne buried her face in her hands, refusing to give up until Margot was proven to be innocent. Just then, a cheerleader walked past, declaring that Frau "totes deserved to die".

They soon caught up with the cheerleader, named Christi du Lune, who twirled her hair and commented that Frau "watched her, like, all the time". Christi then blew a kiss, that she "seriously didn't mind Margot killing him", before running away again. As Daphne insisted they clear Margot's name before it was tarnished further, they continued investigation, next labelling dean Magnus Hartmann as a suspect. They later discovered Frau was killed by explosive smoke bombs. As Velma left the station for a pregnancy check-up, they discovered Frau had been harassing Margot, suggesting she stay behind for private tutoring. They also discovered Frau labelled Europa as a freak, kicking her off his course, angering Bellona. Daphne then began panicking, saying she needed to protect her little girl, before Jake revealed officers were pressuring Margot for a confession. They soon headed to the interrogation room, discovering Margot pleading her innocence to the officers who were pressuring her. Grayson then ordered them to stand-down, allowing the pair to discover Christi and her cheerleaders vandalised Frau's car and that Magnus had suspended him, which he ignored. Later, as Daphne paced back and forth, the truth came to light and much to Daphne's disbelief... the evidence led to Margot.

Margot begged her mother to believe her, saying she was her little girl, her daughter, that she'd never kill a man. Margot and Daphne began to shed tears as Daphne sat across from her daughter, pleading with her to tell the truth for her. Margot then looked down and admitted the truth - she was guilty. Daphne soon begged her daughter to tell her why, but a tearful Margot shook her head, telling her that if they knew, they'd be in danger and she couldn't let that happen. Margot continued refusing to explain, only revealing "she wished they'd never won". She then began apologising to her mother as she was taken away. During the trial, Judge Watson told Margot to reconsider keeping her motivations secret, but Margot shook her head, telling the jury she only wanted to keep her mother safe. Margot then asked for a cell with a window - as she loved to draw the birds - before Judge Watson was faced with no choice but to sentence her to thirty years imprisonment. Margot was led away - as Daphne promised to discover the truth - before the courthouse doors slammed shut.

Post-trial, a frantic Daphne revealed Margot had been blocking her attempts to visit. Daphne then asked Nancy and the player to return to the amphitheatre with her, remembering Margot's comments about winning during the arrest. After returning to the class, they found Margot's locker, which they unlocked and searched through. They then found Margot's documents, per William, containing strategies on how to win the competition between the university's fraternities and sororities. They soon returned to the dean's office where Daphne demanded Magnus explain. He then told the trio that the groups in the university competed through academic challenges for extended funding. He then revealed the winners were Margot's sorority, Alpha Psi. As they left, Daphne apologised for shouting, confessing that Margot's arrest had shaken her to the core. Daphne then vowed to protect her daughter, no matter what.

Meanwhile, a concerned Vinnie told the player and Barbara that, after their check-up, Velma hurriedly left the hospital in the direction of the campus. They quickly headed to the campus, where they found Velma's diary on the ground. After recovering the notes, where Velma talked about her worry for the baby, they found Velma sobbing on a bench. They soon sat with her, as she wringed her wrists, before the expectant mother reluctantly revealed she'd been diagnosed with a gene mutation which caused LCA (Leber congenital amaurosis). She then confessed that LCA caused blindness in infants. The group then hugged Velma, with Vinnie promising that no matter the outcome, they'd give their child the best life possible. Vinnie then arranged an appointment to be checked for the gene mutation while the others returned a fearful Velma to the police station.

Following the events, emotions ran high amongst the team. As Matthew offered his condolences, Daphne pleaded with the team to investigate Margot's sorority, Alpha Psi. With no time to waste, they hurried to the sorority house.
