Bryson Gauthier (1982-2016), a main character appearing in Season 1 in Criminal Case, served as the Lab Chief of the Coral Grove Police Department until he was murdered in Down the Garden Path (Case #60 of Coral Grove).
Bryson, aged 34 and hailing from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, worked as a world traveler prior to his tenure in the department. He had bright brown eyes and dark brown hair underneath a French beret. He wore a standard lab coat which had a blue box with the word "Forensic" written in white on his right. Underneath the lab coat, he wore a black shirt. Other than that, he wore a DNA necklace around his neck.
Bryson was known to be an adventurous globetrotter who collected souvenirs and photographs to fulfill his ambitious lifestyle. He was also known to be industrious, independent, spontaneous, and quite the epicure. However, his only known weakness was eating food samples. Besides that, it was known that Bryson's favorite animal was an octopus and that his favorite dish was grilled chicken with seasonal vegetables.
As the Lab Chief of the Coral Grove PD, Bryson has the responsibility of taking care of all the necessary physical, biological, and/or clinical analyses, and to inform the team of such results after a certain amount of time or a speed-up process using Criminal Case Cash. His task-wait rates will vary depending on the difficulty of the task, but they all cost 1 Criminal Case Cash per 30 minutes.
Bryson often eats or drinks the sample sent to him whenever he finishes analyzing it, as long as it is something he can safely ingest. He then asks the team if he can have the item the sample has been extracted from to get more. This is due to his busy schedule that hinders his ability to eat full meals throughout the day. He sometimes does this to try out new food and drinks he has never had before.
Below is the list of analyses Bryson performs throughout the course of the game:
The player may choose Bryson to join the investigation of each crime scene (in any Coral Grove case) and provide hint bonuses. He is available as a 3-hint partner.
