Alden Black (1975-2018) was one of the suspects in the murder investigation of kindergartener Michael Merowitz (Case #4 of Toomeswood) and appeared as a quasi-suspect in the events of Lies And Deceit (Case #6 of Toomeswood).
He later returned to slaughter prison warden Jeremiah Blackthorne in Let's All Scream A Bloody Riot (Case #21 of Toomeswood) but was killed after escaping from prison in What A Shocking Escape (Case #26 of Toomeswood)

Alden is a 43 year old serial killer who escaped from prison. He had short combed black hair with blue eyes which had eye bags as well as a five o clock shadow. He sported a red and black checkered jacket, a light blue buttoned shirt with green suspenders and a yellow bow tie. He is is known to ride a bicycle, know how to tie knots and sweat profusely.

Alden became a suspect when Father Novello Cappelanio informed the team that he was a notorious serial killer, whom the victim was pen pals with. When confronted by Jordan Cranbrook and the player, he tried to downplay his guilt of his past crimes by insisting that his victims deserved their fates and that he wasn't a bad guy, he was just misunderstood.
Later on in the investigation, Alden had gotten into a physical altercation with school custodian Miguel Esposito which only resulted in the latter's firing by Principal Gideon.
It is revealed that the two met and Alden not only engaged in a physical scuffle with the victim, he also threatened to kill the victim's adoptive father Todd Merowitz; Alden also threatened to mutilate the victim's body; (which later on prompted Michael to lace his adoptive father's coffee with laxatives when his warnings went unheeded). When confronted by the team, Alden countered that the victim was a nightmare child and deserved to die, as did Todd. He even went as far as to compare him to his late ex-wife whom he murdered in cold blood.
Although the team arrested Julianna for the murder, Alden was arrested for terrorizing the child and trying to kidnap Elanna Esposito as well as escaping from prison. He was shipped off to trial where Judge Whiterock sentenced him to an additional 60 years on top of his already lengthy original sentence.

The catatonic Reggie Cobb was found running near the penitentiary attempting to escape from Rubenscroft Asylum panicked at the mention of Alden. It was revealed that Reggie planned to kill Alden after the latter tried to assault the notary's late wife, exotic dancer Molly Cobb and kidnapped her.Father Novello Cappelanio was discovered at the scene of the crime but insisted that with no warden to manage the penitentiary, he would try to act as a peacemaker and told the team of harlot Molly Greene being at the scene of the crime. Novello also admitted that he had thoughts of poisoning the victim after the latter murdered Warden Jeremiah Blackthorne despite the priest's contempt for the late warden.Molly admitted to being at the scene of the crime as her client, convict Sean Crackton was being released from prison but shook in fear and panicked when the team mentioned Alden's escape and showed her his picture. It was revealed that Molly used to often get in scuffles with Alden during her early transitioning days and she cut his wrist after he tried to strangle her.Reggie's twin brother Harry Cobb worked as a clown at Cold River County Fair but often got attacked by Alden. Harry admitted to wanting to asphyxiate Alden via replacing the psychopath's drugs with dinosaur sponge capsules as Alden often viciously attacked him at his work.Once he got wind of Alden having escaped from solitary confinement, psychiatric patient Miguel Esposito's older brother Javier Esposito decided to hide at the gas station from the escaped psychopath. It was discovered that Javier had planned to burn Alden alive boiling water mixed with brown sugar after the psychopath savagely attacked his younger brother.
